Vejay, you need to enable script execution in PowerShell. Run PowerShell elevated (as admin) then execute:

PS> Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

Hi,

I get this error:
File C:\Users\Lab\Documents\troubleshooting packs\troubleshooting pack2\output\RS_ProgMode.ps1 cannot be loaded because the execution of
scripts is disabled on this system. Please see “get-help about_signing” for more details.

Thanks for the great tutorial Rafael, I had noticed the utility and some of the packs and gave them a try a few days ago, but this has clarified some of my questions on tweaking my performance and settings with out going into the registry and manually setting things by trial and error.

Hmm someone should put together a “troubleshooting” pack of Windows 7 tweaks (when people figure out the best ways to tweak it, of course). It does ask you before applying a fix so this would be a workable way to package tweaks (like your example).

I personally figured out how to clear the “Keep the taskbar on top of other windows” pref that was removed from 7’s control panel, although I guess the reason they forced it is because the jump lists and window popups don’t show up on top of other windows unless the taskbar is in front of them.
