Short: Ribbon implemented in Windows “7” Paint
Stephen posted an interesting shot of the new Ribbon implemented in a newer Microsoft Paint build. I sincerely hope this is a sign that Sinofsky the Windows “7” team has already fixed other more pressing issues like the infamous folder “type sniffing” errors and the irritating non-existent file deletion dialog…

You mean they may actually make the entire OS look and feel as if it were one and not some mash up of Windows95 and up?
Oh great - so we’re going to see cluttering of the title bar too now? The Ribbon interface was meant to be a move away from this type of cluttering that proliferated in so many Windows applications (especially Microsoft’s own products). Look, guys.
The fact that the Quick Access toolbar is still here is because people don’t want to need to click twice (or more) for things like saving.
I know, the toolbars were a bit overdone in earlier versions, and I agree.
But the QAT is for Quick Access, not Filling to the Brim.
The QAT belongs in the titlebar because it doesn’t need much space (unless you’re a freak). Better than having it steal an entire row of screen spcae below the Ribbon.
