It would appear Microsoft has moved / deleted the file, in the link, and its no longer availble. And they've also come out with a newer version. This is a problem, because i cannot log onto my live, 8.5 anymore. I wount let me log in, without saying there's a newer version :

"Do you wish to install the newer version?"

"Yes" - It downloads, unpacks, and then says it can't be installed on my WinXP x64.
"No" - The download box disappears, and i get moved back to the log in screen, and can start over. -> Log in ?

How do i either get it to quit looking for updates, or how do i get the newer version installed ?
I'd prefer the ladder one, of course. Thanks !

I have been a loyal fan and user of xp 64 bit since it first came out. I think it is faster and runs programs more efficiently than the regular 32 bit. Now here to find out that we not only loose more support from the manufacturing companies, but now microsoft. I have begun to hate the road microsoft has chosen.

NOT sure why Microsoft believes their new Vista will boost the productivity of any sane person. Its so un-intuitive and lacking any logic in performing even basic user operations I had to abandon it only a week after I jumped on it and go back to the good old XP (this time 64bit). Things a person does in XP with 2 mouse clicks are done in Vista with 5.
That said, to ignore two of the best OS this company ever produced (XP & 2003) is, least to say, an act of foolishness.

Wow, even M$ has joined in the "kicking x64 to the curb" like every one else.

It's bad enough I have to jump through hoops to get hardware support for x64, now I have to jump to get M$ to support thier own OS.

Way to go M$. If Vista wasn't a bunch of crap I'd use it. Looks like you jumped the shark on that one.
